SUPPLIES NEEDED
Tube of Choice - I'm using a beautiful one by © Anna Liwanag which I purchased from CDO and am using with licence. If you don't have or wish to use the same tube, use one that you have permission or licence to use.
Lots of Filters - including
Mura Meister Copies
Graphics Plus - Quick Tile 1
Eye Candy 4000 HSB Noise
Xero Greytinter/Scaler
Toadies - What are You?
Jeux de Lignes Entrelacement
♥
Ready to rock 'n roll?
Let's do this thing!
Open a New Image in PSP - 650 px by 550px at 72 dpi
Open your chosenTube
C&P at full size
Place on the working canvas/tag area/call it what ya like
Mura Meister Copies - Wallpaper - default setting
Once applied - Crop Tool, Crop to Merged Opaque (i.e. the current image size of 650 x 550)
Duplicate the layer
Top Copy - Adjust Blur Gaussian 2.00
Change to Soft Light or similar
Apply Xero Greytinter on 0 or Greyscaler - same effect on those settings lol!
If you then turn the opacity on and off between the two layers
you'll see the difference is subtle - only subtle as the tube is gorgeous
and doesn't require much floof!
Hide White Background
Merge Visible to the two wallpaper tube layers
Unhide
♥
Now have your Selection Tool on Square
Starting at the top left of the tag area
Draw out a Square and keep going until you're about 8 pixels or so away from touching the bottom of the image canvas
Go to Selections, Edit Selections and you'll see it's gone Red and the little vavavoom lines aren't dancing about around the outside of the selection at the moment. That's fine.
Now go to your Move Tool
Tap on the Red Area and move the redness more into the centre (or any other part of the working canvas where the Wallpaper has highlighted a part of pretiness or interest - just make sure it's still all within the tag area i.e. we can see it and it's not outside the canvas.)
Once you've placed where you like - return to Selections and in the DD menu hit Edit Selection once more.
The redness will go and the voom lines are back!
Making sure you're on the layer in the LP - Selections, Invert and hit Delete
Selections None
Now go to Objects - Align - Centre in Canvas
♥
So now we have a nicely cut "background" to work with and the White Background showing
On the working background layer
Duplicate
Hide the bottom copy and with the top one active
Go to Graphics Plus - Quick Tile 1 - on the default settings
(all three sliders will be on 128)
Apply
Now, resize this layer in your Image, Resize by 80%
Then back into Graphics Plus
and reapply the same filter as before
You'll now have 4 squares of 4 squares?
I hope!
If you haven't - try moving the QT sliders until you get something similar
but I am hoping that the GP plug in is set so the thresholds of tiling are the same
regardless of image used etc.
See how you get on...fiddle about until it looks like mine..ish!
♥
Duplicate this layer
and on the bottom version of it
In your Materials Palette
Change both of your colours to White
then go to
Toadies - What are You?
and at 20 on X Dose and Y Dose sliders (default)
Apply
then go to
Jeux de Ligne Entrelacement
and change the Espacement Slider to 25
So now, unhide the other Quick Tiled layer
Pick a colour using your Dropper tool - I went for a lovely shade from my tubes hair
#9f7d6f
Take your Preset Shape Rectangle with the Line Width of 9.00 on Solid Line
On the Right side of your tag
Top Square area - Top Left of Square with the 4 sections layer as a guide
Draw out a Square shape
Once drawn out and converted to Raster
You can then jiggle it about to line it up a little more if liked
Then
Right click on this layer in the LP
Image - Mirror - Mirror Vertical
It should like up with the bottom right square area
Again, if not, jiggle it a little so it does
Repeat this step for the other two areas
SO you now have four rectangle frame layers
beautifully framing the effect main areas?
Good
Onwards!
♥
Unhide the copy of the first "background" layer we used
With one of these layers
making sure in the LP they are below the
other effect layers
Move it within the right top square area
Do a Magic Wand Selection in both the TOP and BOTTOM right
areas and Invert, Delete to cut the image
You can - if you'd like - for complete symmetry, duplicate the working background
cut area and mirror place on the left
but I liked some of the effect showing so I left it
♥
Taking your Rectangle Shape again
This time with the Fill on a variant colour for your tag
I went for a nice Caramel to compliment my first colour - so this
one was #c7b3ab
Look to your central tag section
And draw out a long vertical rectangle for the central tag area
Go from top to bottom and line up with the thick lines from Entrelacement
for placement...boom boom!
OK
Once you've done that
Convert to Raster
Swap your colour in the MP - bottom box
to either White or Black or a colour of choice
No Stroke
Take a nice Sans Serif font
(I used Poppins - Size 26
and the words Memories Sweet Memories)
Create as Vector
Type out your chosen words
Happy with the Length of the Text to Rectangle Ratio?
Convert to Raster
and Rotate it to place over your middle vertical rectangle area
Once you've done that - apply a crisp drop shadow to the text
(I used 1, 1, 21, 1.00 Black and applied it twice)
♥
At this point - IF you like much bigger tags - resize your working area as liked
OK?
So now -
Open your tube (if you closed it)
Copy
Resize as preferred
and place where liked on the canvas
If needed, do a selection invert delete on a duplicated
tube to make it look like it's emerging from your frame
But if you use a full bodied or sitting one - do this or not - it's your choice :)
On the Opposite side where you've placed your tube (so mines on the right)
C&P the larger or CU version if you have one
Place within the frame area
(and in the LP it will be BELOW the frame layer but
above the other effect layers)
Once placed
Do an Invert Delete
Change the Blend Mode something that compliments
your tube
I went for Hard Light
and dropped the Opacity to 59
then
Duplicated
and on the 2nd copy of this layer
changed the Opacity to 24
♥
Finishing Touches now!
Do another Merged Opaque crop - i.e. Crop your canvas to the size you want it for tags
Sharpen anything that needs sharpening only if needed
Then - add some noise to your frames using
Eye Candy on these settings
Hit Random Seed before you apply it
to each frame to give a different swoosh
I then glittered up my frames using
Adjust Add/Remove Noise/Add Noise/50 Gaussian Monochrome Ticked
but you can go madder or more subtle if you'd prefer
Apply a subtle dropshadow to the frames and the middle rectangle layers
I used the same as before
Add your name in a font of choice with a drop of choice
and place where it looks best on your tag
Add your Artist © and/or licence info and your taggers info
Delete the White Background
Shift and hold D to duplicate
Save that duplicated one as a PNG
and
Save your ORIGINAL one as PSPImage in case you
need to come back, make changes, add names for offers etc.
That's it!
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and if you make one and
would like to show me?
Smashing!
I'll add it to the bottom of this page if it's beeyoooooooutiful too :D
